Shop Restocks Explained

  • I typically have One restock every quarter; so you can expect one every 3 months. I restock everything on my shop once a year, twice if it has a high demand.  If you would like to see what I am currently working on, you can stay up to date on my instagram. Please keep in mind while waiting for my small batches; production and drying take 3-8 weeks. There is also design preparation, bisque firing, glaze firing, inventory, and then finally another restock after 3 months of work.

  • I have so many products that I can not get to all of them in one month or even every quarter. But if you sign up for the newsletter or waitlist, you will know when something has been restocked. I typically update a couple items each restock and cycle through all of my products throughout the year.

    A typical schedule will look like this:

    1st quarter: Vases, Cups and Brush holders

    2nd quarter: Medium and Skinny palettes

    3rd quarter: Casper and Sunrise Palettes

    4th Quarter: Large Palettes, Moon Palette Sets, and other merchandise for Christmas

  • My shop restocks are announced on my Instagram, newsletter and website at least 1 week from the restock date. Every once in a while, I will have a surprise restock for my newsletter followers. If you would like to stay in the know, click HERE to sign up! You can also view the restock schedule HERE

  • The exact date and time of each restock will be announced in the Newsletter and the Restock Schedule. Setting an alarm for the restock time is highly recommended, as is already being logged into your customer account. Sometimes products sell out within 1-5 minutes after the shop is open; I know that is fast and hope it does not deter you from shopping with me. I do my best to have enough in stock, but I like to always remind my customers that;

    “I am an Artist and a one women show, not Amazon.”

  • For Newsletter First Access Restocks, my shop will be password-protected while I am updating the inventory. You can find the lock page password in your newsletter emails. This lock page password will not work until the exact time of the restock. With that in mind, if you are not signed up for the newsletter, you might have a hard time buying your desired products.

  • While checking out: Please keep in mind that my checkout system does not allow ‘holds’ on any available item. This means that while an item is in your cart, it could become unavailable due to high demand. To purchase your desired item, I suggest to not browse around the shop once the restock opens. Know what you want beforehand and purchase it immediately.

  • If you are not able to purchase something during the update window, don’t worry! The Waitlist feature is SUPER helpful to both you and me! You will receive an email when your preferred item is back in inventory.

  • This is not a pre-order. It only notifies you when the item you sign up for will be available for purchase. You'll get a quick link to the product page of your waitlist item. It’s great for me because I get to see what the demand is for my merchandise and what inventory I should focus on for my next restock. Please let me know! The waitlist option is where it says:  Get notified by email when this product is back in stock. If you have signed up for notifications for an item but were still unable to purchase the desired item and want to be notified again… you must sign up again.

  • The Customer account is separate from the newsletter. It helps for a speedy checkout and you can see all of your orders as well as your personal information saved. That information is only visible to you. I can not go in and see your cc information. Click the ‘Sign In’ button in the menu bar and create a profile. Before the shop update, you can log into your account and have it ready to go! This feature is HIGHLY recommended and essential to purchase some of our most popular inventory.

  • Every ceramicist knows there there is 10-30% failure rate in creating pottery. When something goes wrong with my work, rather than throwing the flawed pieces in the trash, I discount them for my customers! These items will be updated with each restock, but under the "Seconds Shop”. I keep them separate from my mint condition pieces so not to add any confusion when checking out. “Seconds” come with rubber bumpers attached or a set of rubber buttons to level the warped ceramic. All items will be marked down according to the severity of the flaw (warping, glaze irregularities, etc.). Please read the product description for an explanation of the specific flaw. First Access Newsletter

  • As a Newsletter subscriber, you get some great perks including first access to the shop restocks! If you would like to purchase something from me, it’s important to stay in the loop with my newsletter updates HERE

  • ”I can’t find my welcome email.” I hear this a lot and almost everyone that can not find it, finds it in their promotions folder or their spam folder. Because I use pictures in our emails and I am a business... unfortunately, they tend to go to those places. BUT, if you add hello@sylvanclayworks.com to your contacts, you should see it every time!

  • I promise we do not spam; I only email about important dates/times, surprise restocks, new policies, discount codes, or behind the scenes stuff. At the most, we send 1-5 emails a month.
